Description
The 1500 series of Union Butterfield hand taps are manufactured conforming to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and can be used for hand tapping many materials including steel, cast iron, aluminum and stainless steel, making them a very versatile choice. They come with a bright finish which prevents workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edges so you get cleaner, more accurate threads, and a straight flute design, suitable for threading both through and blind holes. The taps are available in a wide range of UNC, UNF and UNS thread forms in taper, plug and bottoming options, and are made from premium High Speed Steel for superior performance and extended tool life.
