Description
Guhring offers a parabolic flute design called GT that allows end users to drill deeper, with less drill retracts and high feed rates. The open flute design decrease chip packing while the parallel web design aids in chip evacuation. Once considered a design for drilling aluminum, Guhring refined the parabolic flute form and developed designs for all materials. No other manufacturer offers the variety of parabolic flute designs that Guhring now offers as standard stocked items.
The GT50 design is best suited for aluminum and gummy materials. The wide open flute design allows the GT50 to drill faster and deeper than conventional Type N flute profiles without time consuming retracts for chip clearing. GT50 parabolic drills are used in taper length and extra length style drills for deeper hole applications.
