Description
Guhring offers a parabolic flute design called GT that allows end users to drill deeper, with less drill retracts and high feed rates. The open flute design decrease chip packing while the parallel web design aids in chip evacuation. Once considered a design for drilling aluminum, Guhring refined the parabolic flute form and developed designs for all materials. No other manufacturer offers the variety of parabolic flute designs that Guhring now offers as standard stocked items.
The most recent addition to the GT parabolic offering is the GT500. The GT500 drill incorporates a 130º point angle with a GN-B web thin for improved cutting edge strength. Combined with a wear resistant powdered metal cobalt substrate, the GT500 flute profile is well suited for common steel, alloyed heated steel and stainless steel applications as well as cast iron.
