R457 Force-X drills, for holes up to three times the diameter of the drill, are capable of drilling holes of very high quality and accuracy (H9 hole tolerance), even at high speeds and feeds. They are manufactured from premium carbide so can be used to drill many materials including stainless steels, aluminium and steels, and have a titanium aluminium nitride coating for longer tool life and improved performance when drilling harder materials. Self-centering is achieved, thanks to the 140 degree, 4-facet split point, which also means less push force is needed to drill the hole. R457 Force-X drills have a special CTW flute design (Continuously Thinned Web) plus coolant feed, which give the drills increased strength and allows them to operate at higher cutting speeds and feeds.
