Dormer?s R453 Force-X drill is manufactured from premium carbide and can be used to drill a wide range of materials including steels, stainless steels and aluminium. The drill has a special flute design, incorporating a CTW flute (Continuously Thinned Web) and coolant feed, with increased strength, so the drill can operate at higher cutting speeds and feeds. The titanium aluminium nitride coating improves performance when drilling harder materials and extends the life of the tool, whilst the 140 degree, 4-facet split point assists with self-centering and reduces the force needed to drill into the workpiece. R453 high performance Force-X drills are capable of producing holes of high quality and accuracy (H9 hole tolerance), even at high speeds and feeds, with a drilling depth up to five times the diameter of the drill.
