R458 Force-X drill for drilling up to three times the diameter of the drill have a 140 degree, 4-facet split point to reduce the push force needed to drill the hole and for assistance with self-centering. The special CTW flute design (Continuously Thinned Web) provides improved strength and means the drill can be operated at increased speeds and feeds and is capable of drilling holes of very high quality and accuracy (H9 hole tolerance), even at these higher values. R458 Force-X drills are manufactured from premium carbide so are capable of drilling a wide variety of materials including steels, stainless steels and aluminium, with a titanium aluminium nitride coating which improves tool life and gives better performance when drilling harder materials.
